The Choices We Make

The choices we make in life determine our destiny.  We all have choices to make in life.  However, there are some things that we do not have a choice to make.  We cannot choose our ethnic background or the color of our skin.  We cannot choose whether we are to be born a male or female, as this is defined at our birth.  It does not matter how one feels, we are to live life accordingly to our defined anatomy. Father God predetermined these features before the foundations of the world.  No matter what the color of our skin or our gender, there is a reason and purpose that we are who we are.

We are given the choice to choose the lifestyle we live and the company we keep.  We are given the free will to choose Life or Death.  The bible says in Deuteronomy 30:19-20, “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.  Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him.  For the Lord is your life, and He will give you many years in the land He swore to give your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”.

May 17, 2004 marked the day that the state of Massachusetts issued marriage license to same sex couples.  People who choose to participate in the homosexual life style are comparing this choice to civil rights.  Under God’s law, He created everyone equal, male and female.  However, a person does not have the choice in the color of their skin, or their gender, but they do have a choice whether or not to participate in a heterosexual life style or a homosexual life style.  These life styles are no way a comparison to civil rights.

As Christians our identity should only be a child of God.  Father God made only one race, the human race, in which we are either male or female. Keep in mind that there is only one race to run, the good race of faith.  Father God has a vision of love, because God is love.  We may come from different diverse backgrounds, but that is the beauty of God’s creation to share and learn from each other.  The bottom line, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, once we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior over our life.

Therefore as children of God we need to make informed choices and stand up for Kingdom Principles. “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve” Joshua 24:15

In a world divided by race and sexual preferences, where do we go from here?  Can we continue to take God out of our government laws?  This nation was built on God’s law,   “One Nation Under God”.   How do we continue to say in God we trust, when we take God out of our Government?  Think about it and remember who you know, determines where you go.  Know Jesus.
